4. Cookies
Our websites use cookies to optimize display and improve user-friendliness. Cookies also allow us to tailor our web offerings to your interests.
What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small file that our websites place on your device via your browser as an “identifier.” Cookies are used only for the duration of your session, unless they are “persistent” cookies designed to remain on your device after you close your browser.
A cookie typically contains:
- The domain name from which it originated
- The lifespan of the cookie
- A unique alphanumeric identifier
Cookies help our systems recognize your device and make your preferences readily available when you revisit our site. They enable us to:
- Remember your preferred activities on the site,
- Speed up the processing of your requests, and
- Understand your interests during internet usage.
Cookies store only the data described above, and the cookie ID is not linked to your name, IP address, or similar identifying information.
How to Disable Cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. If you do so, please note that you may not be able to use all features of our websites. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until their expiration date or until you delete them manually.
5. Use of Online Services
5.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze your website usage. Information generated by the cookie about your usage is usually transferred to and stored on Google’s servers in the USA. We have enabled IP anonymization on this website, so your IP address is truncated within the EU/EEA before transmission. In exceptional cases, the full IP may be sent to Google in the USA and truncated there.
In our assignment, Google uses this information to evaluate your website usage, compile reports on website activity, and provide related services. Your IP address is not linked with any other Google data.
You can prevent cookie storage by adjusting your browser settings. You can also prevent data collection by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
We base our use of Google Analytics on Article 6(1)(f) DSGVO to analyze user behavior and safeguard our legitimate interests.
5.2 Google Ads Conversion
We use Google Ads to place targeted advertisements on external sites and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. Google Ads sets “conversion” cookies on your device, which expire after 30 days and contain no personally identifiable information. These cookies record parameters such as unique cookie ID, frequency of ad impressions, and post-view conversion data.
When you arrive at our site via a Google ad, Google and we can recognize that you clicked the ad. We do not collect or process any personal data ourselves; we only receive aggregated statistics from Google.
Data processing occurs via a direct connection between your browser and Google’s servers. We have no influence over the data collected or its further use by Google. If you are logged in to a Google service, the visit can be linked to your account.
You can opt out of this tracking by:
- Disabling third-party cookies in your browser,
- Blocking cookies from “www.googleadservices.com,”
- Disabling interest-based ads at http://www.aboutads.info/choices, or
- Installing the opt-out plugin at http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.
We rely on Article 6(1)(f) DSGVO for this processing. For more information, see Google’s privacy policy at http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy and https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html, or the Network Advertising Initiative at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google adheres to the EU–US Privacy Shield.
5.3 Google Remarketing
In addition to conversion tracking, we use Google Remarketing to display targeted ads to previous visitors of our site. Remarketing cookies collect pseudonymized data about your browsing across different sites. Google does not merge this data with your personally identifiable information.
5.4 TikTok Plugins and TikTok Pixel
We use TikTok plugins and the TikTok Pixel (TikTok Technology Limited, Ireland/China) under Article 6(1)(a) DSGVO (your consent).
- Embedding of videos: TikTok plugin
- Tracking: TikTok Pixel
More information: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy?lang=de and https://ads.tiktok.com/i18n/official/policy/controller-to-controller
5.5 Klaviyo
We use Klaviyo, Inc., 125 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02111, USA, for our newsletter distribution. When you subscribe, your data is stored on Klaviyo’s servers in the USA. Klaviyo processes and analyzes the data for us but does not use it for its own purposes. Processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) DSGVO), which you can withdraw at any time (e.g., via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter). More information: https://www.klaviyo.com/legal/privacy-policy
6. Tracking Pixels
Our website uses tracking pixels (1×1 pixel code snippets) to determine browser type and usage without identifying individuals. You can block tracking pixels using tools such as Webwasher or AdBlock. We will not use them without your explicit consent to collect personal data or share it with third parties.
Legal basis for necessary tracking pixels: Article 6(1)(f) DSGVO.
Meta Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland) on our website to analyze the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram and to serve targeted advertising. The pixel allows us to track user behavior after they click on an ad (conversion tracking) and to retarget users based on their interests.
This may involve the transfer of personal data to Meta servers in the USA. The USA is considered a third country under data protection law that does not provide an adequate level of protection. Access by U.S. authorities cannot be ruled out. We have no control over these processing activities.
The legal basis for processing is your consent under Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time via our consent management tool.
Further information on how Meta processes data can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php
You can also disable personalized advertising in your Facebook settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads
Social Media Platforms
We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms to communicate with you as customers, interested parties, and users active on those platforms and to inform you about our services there.
User data may be processed outside the European Union by the respective networks and platforms, though not by us directly. This may present risks to users, such as making it harder to enforce their rights. For U.S. providers certified under the Privacy Shield, we note that they are committed to complying with EU data protection standards.
As a rule, the networks and platforms process user data for market research and advertising purposes, creating user profiles based on usage behavior and interests. These profiles can be used, for example, to place ads inside and outside the platforms that are assumed to match users’ interests. Cookies are typically stored on users’ devices for these purposes. These profiles may also include data across multiple devices (especially if users are registered and logged into the respective platforms).
The legal basis for processing users' personal data is our legitimate interest in effective user communication and information pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(f) DSGVO. If users are asked by the platform providers to consent to processing (e.g., by checking a box or clicking a button), the legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(a) DSGVO.

Data Transfers to the USA
Our website integrates services from providers based in the United States. When these services are active, the transfer of personal data to the companies' servers in the USA cannot be excluded.
We point out that the United States is currently considered a third country without an adequate level of data protection under the GDPR. U.S. companies may be obligated to disclose personal data to U.S. authorities, and affected individuals may not have effective legal remedies against such actions. There is therefore a risk that U.S. authorities (e.g., intelligence agencies) may access and permanently store transferred data for surveillance purposes.
We have no control over these processing activities.
Data Subject Rights
You have the following rights under the DSGVO:
a) Right of Access
You have the right to be informed about and request access to the personal data we process about you.
b) Right to Rectification/Erasure/Restriction
You have the right to request that we:
- Immediately correct inaccurate personal data (right to rectification),
- Delete your personal data without undue delay (right to erasure),
- Restrict the processing of your data (right to restriction).
c) Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit that data to another controller.
d) Right to Withdraw Consent
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
e) Right to Object
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (Art. 6 (1)(e) GDPR) or for our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
f) Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the DSGVO, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, without prejudice to any other legal remedy.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as necessary to reflect changes in legal requirements or in our services and data processing practices. These updates refer only to the information on data processing. If changes require user consent or affect contractual terms, they will be made only with the express consent of the affected users.
Users are encouraged to check this privacy policy regularly for updates.
If you have any questions regarding our data protection policy, please feel free to contact us at: support@seenodifference.com
Children
This privacy policy applies solely to the use of our website by adults. The processing of personal data from children is not intended. We are aware of the importance of protecting children's data online and do not knowingly collect information from children.
